Do I need to make an appointment before I get a massage?

Yes, please contact us directly or schedule online before coming to get a massage. Walk-ins are currently not accepted.

What type of massage should I get?

We offer a custom massage for most of clients. It incorporates Swedish, deep tissue, sports, cupping, and trigger-point therapies.

Senior massage is designed for elderly 65 and plus; who are thin skin and bruise easily. I use gentle and light pressure to promote circulation and help stop neuropathy. Also, this type of massage helps improve balance and reduce pain from arthritis.

Pregnancy massage is available for expecting mothers over 15 weeks along. During the massage the expecting mother is in the sideline position supported by cushions and pillows to help keep her in a well supported and relaxed state.

CBD massage is one of my most relaxing massage I perform; the CBD oil is used to help relieve pain and loosen the muscles quicker while using my custom techniques.

Do I have to get completely undressed to receive a massage?

No, not at all. Your comfort is number one on my list; some clients go completely nude, but most keep their undergarments on. Some only undress the areas that are being worked on. At all times you were completely covered with a sheet and blanket; I only uncover one area at a time at all times. The breast and genital areas are always covered.

What do I do if I don’t feel comfortable during my massage session?

Good communication is key to a great massage.

If you get too hot or cold I can turn the table warmer up or down. if the music isn’t to your liking or the music is too loud or quiet; I can easily change it and tailor it to your preference. Also I will be checking in on the pressure during the session multiple times.

How should I prepare for my massage session?

It’s best not to get a massage on a full stomach. It is also not a good idea to be under the influence of any alcohol. Let me know what kind of prescription drugs you have taken that day before we start.

What should I do after a massage?

1. Take a moment. You are coming back to the world of responsibility and stress; let yourself take those few extra moments after your massage on the table to adjust back into reality. A few simple breathes in through your nose and out through your mouth should help a trip back down to Earth!
2. Schedule your next massage! Once you’ve found your footing off the table, be sure to get yourself back on your massage therapist’s books ASAP. Who knows how busy you’ll both be once you leave through those doors?
3. Replenish with fluids and a light meal. A lot of movement has happened in and through your body without you ever lifting a finger and this can leave a lot of people hungry, thirsty, and even tired. Be sure to take an extra minute to hydrate yourself and to help yourself to either a snack or light meal. Your body will thank you in the long run!
4. Continue your relaxed vibe. Maintaining the peace you may have found on the table can be a bit of a challenge but it isn’t impossible! Having a selection of relaxing music, television, or even a nap can help continue to nurture the calm that you experienced during a massage.
5. Light activity. Sometimes sitting still after laying down for 60 – 120 minutes isn’t what someone wants to do; trying a light activity such as stretching or yoga may be what you’re after. It can feel amazing to stretch your body after all of it’s tissue has been massaged and relaxed.
6. Warm bath or shower. Continue your relaxation with a nice, long, warm bath or shower. Let your kneaded muscles soak in all that goodness and remember, a little bit of Epsom salt in a warm bath can go a long way!

What shouldn’t I do after a massage?

1. Rush. Absolutely, take your time getting your self and senses together, especially after a massage. No one wants all of the blood rushing to your head because you’re moving so fast! Let your massage therapist know if you need a little bit more time than others so you can get the care that you need.
2. Avoid strenuous activities. Even if your were laying down for your session, your body was still doing a lot! You may feel like a million bucks right after a massage, but it is not a recommended idea to go out and to try and lift the world right after a massage. Give your body a day or so (depending on how you feel) before attempting any heroic activity.
3. Push yourself. Life is an everyday thing and as adults, we have nothing but everyday things. A massage can be an escape from all of that and because of this, it can be a lot to jump right back into everyday routine. If you can, be sure to carve some time out for yourself after a massage so that you can readjust properly.
4. Heavy meals and lack of hydration. A heavy comfort meal may sound like the most amazing thing after a massage, but you may find that this is not the case. A heavy meal might make you bloat or cause stomach distress after a massage as you’ve essentially just had a system reset. Don’t skip on hydrating afterwards either!
5. Skipping rest. You’ve just had the best massage of your life and now you want to take on the world! Which is an amazing feeling and you probably also feel tired.  A massage can feel like a workout so if you feel tired afterwards, please rest! You and your body deserve it.
6. Forgetting to reschedule. If you enjoyed the massage and your massage therapist, then don’t forget to reschedule with them ASAP! A good massage is hot gossip: as soon as someone knows, everyone knows. Be sure to secure your peace and tranquility before someone else does.

What is the difference between Swedish massage and deep tissue massage?

Swedish massage is more of a relaxing massage using a lighter but firm pressure. Deep tissue is more pin pointed to areas that need to be focused on because of pain or over use. Some think deep tissue must be painful to get relief, but I use a softer touch to relax the muscle to allow me to sink into the lower fibers; to calm and heal, painful areas of the body.

What is the difference between sports massage and deep tissue massage?

Sport massage incorporates more stretching moves to release lactic acid buildup in muscles because of sporting activities and improve circulation. Sports massage is better for athletes before an event and after. While deep tissue massage focuses on knots and strained muscles.

What credentials should a qualified massage therapist have?

Massage Therapy Reviews

This is so needed in Lakeside especially when there are so many unregulated, unlicensed and unprofessional massage parlors popping up. Weber Massage is the real deal. There’s professionalism, safety, and wellness at Weber Massage. I really like Elizabeth. This place is such a gem for Lakeside and I hope more people support them to keep this place thriving! – Elizabeth C., Yelp
My husband and I have been going to Mattie for therapeutic massages for five plus years. Her service has been consistent; she is intuitive and skilled and always pleasant to deal with. She listens to what your particular needs are and doesn’t subscribe to one size fits all like some massage therapists. We have very different needs as he has severe back degeneration and I just experience occasional back pain and stress in my neck and shoulders. We both recommend her without reservation. – Debra L., Google
Liz provided the best massage I’ve ever had. She was so intuitive and applied just the right pressure. Liz made me feel incredible. All stress and tension melted away. – Cindy M., Google
